Origins of social optimus LLC

I am Dana R Willmer, PhD and the founder of social optimus LLC. My entire life I have been interested in how an individual’s social environment, the people, places, culture around them, shape their life experiences. My formal education, real-world lived experiences, career journey and contributions relate to trying to positively impact the social environment for others. My LinkedIn profile can provide the formal details of my career. My 20 years of leadership experience are based on linking my applied research organization's performance measures to behavioral outcomes of colleagues at front line, operational management and executive levels through process implementation of key behavioral changes to support organizational practices and strategic goals. I focused on "what does good look like" and then worked backwards to the behaviors that needed changing to get "to good". I did this managing a team of 25 with three front line managers as the Human Factors branch chief and then worked at the executive level in the Associate Director for Science (ADS) role building and implementing initiatives to improve scientific excellence for our research division of 100-130 employees through the Office of the Director and 3 branch chiefs. I have coached others for executive leadership, strategy execution, change management, leadership development and performance improvement using behavior change methodologies and practices that underpin my expertise. All these experiences merge together to support the foundation of delivering knowledge, skills and abilities for goal based and result-driven improvement in social skills.
